Our Fichet 'Butterfly' locks were originally installed in the brand new Banque Fédérale client safe deposit vault in 1912. The bank was bought by UBS and most of the 1100 client safes were moved across the street in the UBS safe deposit vault in 1946.

These locks have a highly elegant and advanced mechanism. The keys have a distinctive elongated shape with a flat ring and assymetrical wings at the end. But the most striking feature is the ingenious butterfly shaped, padlockable double keyhole cover that gave these doors their names.

We have been able to save a limited quantity of these doors in various sizes and you can buy them from this website.
